Frequently Asked Questions 

What do I need in order to rent a gun at the Los Angeles Gun Club?

 If you do not bring your own firearm then you need to be in a party of at least 2 or more people and you must have a valid form of government issued identification (State ID, Drivers License, or Passport). *We do not allow people who do not bring their own firearm to shoot in the range by themselves. Either family member(s) or friend(s) are acceptable.  *Note* All persons under the influence of alcohol, marijuana or illicit drugs are not allowed to shoot. We will detect the signs of intoxication. Any scent of marijuana on you or group (regardless of no consumption) we will ask you to leave the premises. No exceptions. This is a preventative measure we take to protect the safety of our staff and clients. Remember, you can be a danger to yourself and others in a non-sober state of mind. How old do you have to be to shoot at the LA Gun Club?

The youngest age that we accept is 10 years old and must be 56 inches in height. They must be accompanied by an adult who is at least 21 years or older AT ALL TIMES. To purchase rifle and shotgun ammunition in the State of California you must be 18 years of age or older. To purchase handgun ammunition you must be 21 years of age or older.

What are your hours?

Yes, we are open on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 3:00pm – 11:00pm and Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 11:00am – 11:00pm. Last call is at10:30pm. No exceptions. We are only ever closed during Thanksgiving, New Years and the Fourth of July. We are open most Monday holidays from 11:00 am to 11:00pm.

How much will it cost to shoot at the LA Gun Club?

We charge for the lane usage, firearm rentals, ammunition sales, and for targets. We allow two people maximum per lane,1st person $24 and the second person $6 . That is a flat fee for up to two hours and only applies if you buy and use our new or remanufactured  ammunition. If you use your own new factory  ammunition through your own handgun, then we charge for one or two people $18 per half hour and only Monday thru Thursday.  We do not allow any outside handgun ammunition to be brought into the range on Friday, Saturday or Sunday.  ALL RIFLE AND SHOTGUN AMMUNITION MOST BE PURCHASED FROM THE LOS ANGELES GUN CLUB. NO EXCEPTIONS.  

Gun rentals range from $5 to $25, with the majority being $5 to $10 per firearm. We have over 150 firearms to rent. Ammunition prices range from between $14.98 to $18.98 for a box of 25 to 50 remanufactured bullets.

If I own my own firearm, how should I bring it into the LA Gun Club?

Your firearm should be locked in a designated case. Shotguns and Rifles must use our ammo. Outside handgun ammo can only be brought on Mon- Thurs. Your personal ammo must be full metal jacket and in brand factory box. We will not allow you to use reloads or ammo that is not in new brand factory box.  Note: we charge $18 per half/hr if you bring your own ammo while using our facility. Time in range under 10 minutes will be charged $9. More  than 10 minutes will be charged the full $18. Weekends you must purchase our ammo for all firearms.

What is appropriate attire at a shooting range?

You should wear comfortable clothes with closed toed shoes.

Am I required to have experience handling a firearm before being allowed to shoot at the LA Gun Club?

No experience is required. If you do not know how to properly handle a firearm then the friendly staff at the LA Gun Club will teach you how to properly handle a firearm free of charge. We have Range Masters inside the range to help you as well.

May I take pictures while I am at the Los Angeles Gun Club?

You are allowed to take pictures at the Los Angeles Gun Club provided that you are being safe with all firearms. Do not turn gun around at the camera. NO SELFIE STICKS IN THE RANGE.

Can I bring my own ammunition?

Yes, you can bring your own ammunition for your own handguns, but it must only be full metal jacket bullets. We do not allow you to bring any ammunition for your own rifle or shotgun. Range time for those who use their own ammo is $18 per half an hour for each lane.

Why am I not allowed to carelessly point a gun at the camera or at my buddy if I know that the gun is unloaded?

1st Safety Rule: Treat every firearm as if it were loaded. 2nd Safety Rule: Never point your firearm at anything you do not intend to shoot.

Do you guys sell firearms or do transfers?

We do not sell firearms at all. We are not a gun shop. We do not do transfers of any sort. This is a shooting range. We only rent out guns for our range use only. We will be happy to assist you in trying out different firearms before you purchase one. We have a wide variety of handguns, rifles and shotguns for you to try to see if it's the right fit for you. Ultimately, we recommend going to your local gun shop or online for more info on purchasing firearms in California.

Can I make a reservation or rent out LAGC?

No we do no accept reservations or rent out our lanes/facility for events. It's a first come, first served policy. We do not make any exceptions. We treat all our customers equally.
